Class of 2018 – Rankings

The junior class is lead by 2015 & 2016 CIF state champion from Clovis high school (CS) Seth Nevills. Nevills, just like his freshman year, dominated his competition as a sophomore. He’ll be looking to win his third state title in 2017. Also winning a CIF state title last year was Ethan Leake from Buchanan high school (CS). Leake pinned his opponent in the finals last year at 113 lbs. A wrestler with a breakout year was Josh Kim from Santiago (SS). He had an amazing run at the CIF championships by finishing 3rd place at a very competitive 145 lbs. class a season ago.

Alexander Felix from Gilroy (CCS) and Chase Zollman from Poway (SDS) are two wrestlers who have placed at the CIF State tournament their first two seasons. They both will be in contention for a state title in 2017. Taking a year off last season was 2015 CIF State Champion Cade Olivas from St. John Bosco (SS). We’ll have to wait and see if Olivas will be competing in 2017.
