“We were ecstatic when Joe asked about the possibility of him associating with Wrestling Prep on a permanent collaborative basis. We can’t imagine someone more  equipped to effect student athletes and the mission of Wrestling Prep. From the beginning, Wrestling Prep has been unique in many facets and Joe has embraced and perpetuated everyone one of them.” said Wrestling Prep Head Coach Carolyn Wester.

2X Olympian and Undefeated UFC Fighter Daniel Cormier shared ”This is a great thing for Carolyn Wester and Wrestling Prep. Joe was on the front line at FLO Wrestling and gave wrestlers and coaches a view into the World of Wrestling as we had never seen before. His experience at the Olympic Games, World Championships, Russian Nationals and many other high level wrestling events will be very valuable for kids at the grassroots level in California. This is a great hire for northern California in general. I look forward to working with Joe and Wrestling Prep as we try to develop wrestling in the Bay Area”.

Joe said ”I have been looking forward to coaching for many years. I am excited to combine what I learned as a wrestler and competitor along with my experiences with FLO Wrestling to develop as a coach”. ”Carolyn Wester and Wrestling Prep have a focus of preparing kids to be successful in wrestling and in life. Wrestling Prep is something I want to be a part of and help propel to the next level”.

At Wrestling Prep we are working on developing the entire individual through wrestling and academics; and Joe is someone who genuinely cares for the kids and who fits into who our mission statement. He brings to the table not only his credentials from FLO Wrestling with his media and wrestling knowledge, but also years of experience teaching and being involved in the education system. I can’t wait to work alongside him”.

“Joe Williamson is one of those selfless individuals who has sacrificed a great deal personally to advance the sport of wrestling. Having him in California at Wrestling Prep brings a phenomenal asset to our states premier training center and selfishly brings a good friend closer; everyone wins on this deal” said Ernie Ciaccio, CA State Director of SCWAY and CEO of AGON.

According to long time Wrestling Prep Athlete PJ Klee, “Joe will be a great addition to Wrestling Prep. I can’t think of anyone better to help build our styles. He has been able to travel the world and see some of the best wrestling out there, as well as conduct interviews and technique sessions with the best collegiate wrestling in the United States. I don’t think there is anything he doesn’t know. His knowledge of the sport is something any wrestler should want. I am excited to have Joe out on the West Coast, and a part of Wrestling Prep”.

USA Wrestling’s 2013 Greco Coach of the Year Bill Mitchell said ”I believe that Joe Williamson is not only the face of FLO Wrestling but is also the face of wrestling in America. Joe coming to Wrestling Prep will bring to light the organizations true mission thru media and increase exposure on the World Circuits.
