Mason Pengilly to Stanford University

Mason Pengilly – Porterville HS

Mason Pengilly from Porterville in the Central Section has now committed to Stanford University. The first day of the fall signing period was this past Wednesday and high school teammate Abel Contreras signed together in a ceremony at school. Pengilly, a three-time state placer, was the 120 lbs. state champion last march as he knocked off defending state champion Isaiah Locsin from Live Oak HS. Mason was recruited by numerous schools before narrowing his official visits down to the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, Stanford and Oregon State. Pengilly will be projected to wrestle at 126 lbs. next Fall for Coach Jason Borrelli and Coach Alex Tirapelle in Palo Alto, CA.
