Rio Hondo’s Middleweight key Roadrunners to 23-18 upset win over Palomar

The Dome-San Marcos, CA: The Comets of Palomar were without some key ranked wrestlers in the California Junior College Wrestling rankings at 184, 125 and 165 as Head Coach Brody Barrios had to juggle his lineup a little bit but the outcome were the 9th ranked JC Roadrunners of Rio Hondo Community College after trailing 6-4 after after Chris Kimball’s 30 second pin over Michael Robles, took the next five weight classes from 141 all the way up to 174 and recorded 1 pin, 2 regular decisions and 1 major decision as they defeated the Comets of Palomar College at 7-4, 1-2 by a 23-18 score.
Rio Hondo winners were Luis Perez, Daniel and David Romero, James Schmidt with a winning takedown at the buzzer won his match, Roger Arce, Jonathan Virk 8th ranked in the California JC Rankings.
Palomar winners were Chris Kimball with a fall, Alex Gallo, 2nd ranked in the California JC rankings with a 5-0 win, Raul Briseno forfeit win and 2nd ranked Seville Hayes in the California JC States ended with the 6-2 win over Brandon Ramos.
