At 182, I think Fregoso (Ponderosa) just lost to Mintmier (Oakmont) at league last week. Not sure why he would be ranked and Mintmier wouldn’t.
At 120, Jordan Sorgman (Casa Roble) has two losses to Kyle Obien (Oakmont) who doesn’t appear in the rankings.
Spencer vonsavoye defeated Jason from Vacaville(132) at the D1 sjs duels in the finals. Also, Jordan van rys of oakdale defeated Ochoa of Vacaville (160) at this same duel
At 113, Elliott beat Taylor in the SFL finals.
Damion Elliott? 113 Del Oro
Kevin Fernandez of El Capitan pinned Sean Myles of Oakmond at Masters last year
For Oakmont, Stephen Lundquist-Brewer is wrestling at 126. Sean Myles is at 170 and beat Valdez from Placer in the FVL finals.
Kevin Fernandez of El Capitan will be dropping down to 172 for the rest of the season. And Gabe Martinez of Oakdale will be staying at 184
Y’all have Manny Curry listed at 145 for Vista Del Lago, he attends Pleasant Grove HS and is competing at 160 currently, dropping to 152 at the beginning of the year (2019).
Thanks
Ceasar Garza barlet lost to brenden Johnson to a controversial call 2-1 at oakdale scrimmage should definitely be ranked higher
Thank you for the info. I’m sure this will get adjusted for the next rankings release.
152 from Tokay, lorenzo millan defeated #5 Lewallen today in Oakdale. Also Willie Ward-Williams from Golden Valley took 3rd at 152 and defeated Wilson of Foothill (NS) who took 3rd NSCIF and is currently state ranked. He notified me he was most likely dropping to 45. At 195 Brooks is from Davis not Grace Davis. Brian Galeno from valley graduated and wrestles for Sac City. Dakota Gutierrez from Bella Vista should be ranked higher and should Robles of Woodland. Thao of Roseville should also be ranked he took 2nd at vista del lago and majored thiara of Rodriguez, Erik Johnson from Vista also wrestled 152 at vista. He defeated Jacob Barquet of Whitney who should also be ranked (injured last year, 1-2 at masters in 2017.
Thank you very much for the information. Please shoot us an email when you get a chance. We have some additional questions for you. calgrappler@gmail.com Thank you very much.
At 113, I think No. 1 and 2 should be switched. I don’t think Stone has lost to Taylor and is the returning section champion.
Kevin Fernandez of El Capitan placed 6th and San Joaquin divionals and Kevin is still 3-0 against Jaron Azevedo and beat Jake Griffiths of ponderosa at San Joaquin section duals he should be somewhere in the 182 rankings
Ponderosa should be ranked so much higher than 20, Ponderosa beat Bella Vista, who beat Turlock, and somehow Tiurlock is still ranked higher than both teams
1st. how is El Capitan ranked so low if they deafened both pitman and golden valley in dual meets. 2nd. Kevin Fernandez of El Capitan is 3-0 against Jaron Azevedo of pitman who is ranked 8th and Kevin placed 2nd at the CCC league championship behind Breck Jeffus.
(170) Brennan Bruegger -Oakmont is 27-10 and has beaten Adame (consumes Oaks) Patterson (El Dorado) Dutka (Roseville) and Gervorkyan (Rosemont) and is not mentioned at all in the 170 rankings.
(182)Kevin Fernandez beat Jared azevedo twice and Mauricio Garcia,he should be higher then both of them on the list
Kevin Fernandez of El Capitan is 2-0 against #4 ranked Jaron Azevedo of Pitman and has placed higher at the last tournament Rumble in the jungle with Kevin placing 2nd losing to Malik Lewis of Franklin and Jaron placing 4th
im am a 182 pounder ranked at 195 still
Eli Blackwell (Tracy) has beaten Kai Niimi (Granite Bay) in the Lou Bronzan semis this season and in the last head to head, Eli beat Seth Chaney (Tokay) in the league dual,
Also beat mokbel obeid
Blackwell is at 115 now and has beaten at least half of the people listed at those weights by now. Cho has him #3 in the section based on state rankings.
Aaron Curtin is from Davis, not Downey and should be ranked higher as he has beaten Franklin, Ponderosa, Tokay and Granite Bay this and previous years
You guys have Foothill guys ranked at 26 and 32, lol Foothill is northern section not SJS.
At 170 lbs SJS Divisional D1AA Dylan Kranich beat Horn in the Semifinals 2-1. The lost to Perez of Pitman at the 5 min mark of the finals. He also pinned Wilkin earlier this year at the Lou Bronzan in the third round. And placed one higher at Divisionals.Wilkin taking 3rd and Kranich at 2nd. Michael Villavicencio 145.
220 Buhach beat Elk Grove and placed higher than number 5 at sierra Nevada

Tyler Viodes (pleasant grove 152) beat Dalton Lee in the off season, and is currently 7-1 so far.
Agree with Dave . 106 seems wrong. Upper class man with notable wins are lower than freshman with unranked wins.
These LOWER CLASSMEN haven’t just decided to pick up wrestling their freshman year. Most have been wrestling for almost 10 years. Wrestling kids at NATIONAL levels. 106 is as accurate as it can get. and point will be proven when its a LOWER CLASSMEN finals at Masters.
Carstensen from BV (106) is a freshman
Keanu Perez will be at 113 soon and should be right behind Chavez, Jake Ryan will not return until February if at all this season. Calaveras – Kelley, Madsen, Giangregori not wrestling this year and Justin Mederios is staying at 182 most likely.
Eli Blackwell (Tracy) at 106 started training with Greg Viloria (5th in state at 115) when they were 5 & 8 years old. Eli is a cadet medalist, cadet nationals 1-2 as 8th grader. Had already beaten two state qualifies this year.
Blackwell just won bay area and did not get scored on.
Folsom should look more like
152 Mica
160 Skyrud
170 Reyes-Small
182 Crane
195 Roush
220 Richards
And Jake Ryan at 145 for Oakdale. He also looks very strong and ready after some injury prone seasons.
A very good wrestler has returned to the mat healthy and yoked. I believe Colby Harlan will be top of the food chain for Oakdale at 184
Folsom will most likely look more like Richards 220, Roush 195, Kraine 182.
Oak Ridge should see Redhair closer to 138, Biacoca at 195 not 160….Bobby Mello at 160 not 152..
Just based on growth over summer….
Disclaimer: I have been wrong before
You should recheck the rankings at 220
Are we missing someone or are you not happy with the order?
you should look into it He beat a couple of the guys you put up there
Derek Burton from Cordova High should be atleast HM for 126
Jake Levengood (2) won the tournament last year and also placed 5th at state while Hunter Halverson (1) took second and DNP at state
Devin Holman is from El Capitan not El Camino
Will there be final SJS rankings before the Masters Meet?
Yes, we are releasing new SJS rankings tonight.
Why? Perhaps waiting until sections were over would be great. Then you might get it right. Such as ranking Zack Krock #5 and HM Gookin who by the way beat Krock today and last week made short work of Husman (CC) to win the D5 title in Escalon. Gookin has just one loss. No Perez in 106’s despite the fact that he has beaten Holman twice, Elgarico, Siason and has a record of 36-6.
Add Leem Kue to the list as Perez just won!
What Perez are you referring too? Jonah?
Noah Mirelez 126 (122) is a freshman… he is marked as a junior. Thanks!
Tyler Viodes (Sophomore at 126 lbs) of Pleasant Grove beat Stephen McCullough of Franklin EG (12-3) who is ranked 7th at 120s.
Tyler Viodes: 4th Inderkum, 3rd Granite Bay, 3-1 Folsom Duals, 2nd Cordova, 4-0 Delta League To Date, Major Decision (12-3) Over Stephen McCullough of Franklin EG (Ranked 7th SJS)
Greg Valencia (Senior 138 lbs) of Pleasant Grove has a 24-7 record: 1st Inderkum, 5-0 Nighthawk Duals Outstanding Wrestler, 1st Cordova, Master’s Qualifier 14/15 Season.
Liam Grandbois-Smith (Senior 160 lbs) of Pleasant Grove: 3rd Inderkum, 1st Granite Bay, 4-1 Nighthawk Duals, 2nd Cordova
Nyko Cruz-Vargas (Senior 195 lbs) of pleasant Grove: 4th Inderkum, 2nd Granite Bay, 1st Cordova
Brandon Mendoza (HM at 120) is gonna be at 113. And he has already beat #4 at 120
Thank you for the info. We’ve moved Brandon down to 113.
How is Styles Schmidli of Lodi High not ranked in the 106? You have Andrew Calvert Franklin EG ranked 5th and Styles has pinned him 2x in under a 1 min 30 sec also you have Gabe Olivera Lincoln as a HM Styles is 3-0 against him…Schmidli is 23-4 so far this year and 1 of his losses was at 113 because they didn’t have enuff 106’s he also placed at Tim Brown 7th and lost to the 4th place finisher 8-7…
Pablo Miller Del Oro 285 beat tristian smith from ripon yet he’s still ranked behind him?
Lorenzo Lewis is up at 138s for post season.
And where is Angel Velasquez from pitman? He pinned ruybal in d1aa finals
I would like to see a better job done on the rankings. You have a Heavyweight in Delhi. Sophomore Jesus Flores that just pinned the #7 at Hwt and lost 2-1 on a controversial locking hands to #3 Tristan Smith in the Finals @ the Division 5. He also took 2nd last year in the Division 5. Does not get a chance to go to the big tournaments but worth a look.
Ok, we will pass this info along to coach Clarkson. He’s the one that does the rankings for the Sac-Joaquin Section.
What about Beau Medicine-Crow from Grant who is a Junior. He’s just a 2nd year wrestler and made it to Masters last year and this year. He lost 2-0 to the kid from Tokay.
Why no HM for this section
Zach Rickard (222 HM) is a sophomore
JT Teel is not 113. he’s 126/132
This has been updated in the newest rankings.
Shawn Webb from hiram w johnson (12)at 138 pinned jalen yip
A regurgitation of whats on the Ca wrestlers forum. Love how they have have an HM list a mile long of B, and sometimes C wrestlers from the same school! It’s not even a half ass attempt….
Adam, It’s the same list. Same guy doing both rankings.
220’s HM Leo Alcantara is a junior
Adam Velasquez at 132s in HM? Try 120s
Skrud of folsom in Hm?
Christian Dominguez of central catholic in Hm ? Try at 152s.
Zach Miller Pondo in Hm ? Try at 120s.
Jt teel at 132s? Try at 113s.
160’s Drake McKee beat Ryan Ojeda, Edgar Rivera and Quinton Cardoza. FYI.. Cardoza quit wrestling (and football) this year.
220 – (HM) Armondo Glinton def. (3) Kyle Jennings 9-8 at Casa Roble Saturday
Matt Fisher
Yates Hunter at 222 is a junior at Lincoln HS Stockton.
Both Peralta and Hernandez of Vacaville are bumping up a weight class for the post season
Isaac Mendoza 222 HM From inderkum 11th Grade
Djuan is the best I’ve been watching him wrestle he is a genius!
172’s Nathan Ah You of Gregori HS beat Bobby Posadas from Grace Davis HS 4-3 in MMC dual last Tuesday 2/4/14. Currently he’s ranked 6th at 182’s. Post season he’ll maintain 172’s.
Stagg heavy has beaten Lodi’s Hector Soto twice this year. Once @DDay and once @ Tim Brown
Aaron Davis, 160 HM, goes to McClatchy. And Marcus Webb, 285, from McClatchy deserves some love. He’s 12-1 so far and gets TCW State Honorable Mention.
At 126 Angel Velasquez should be 1 or 2
At 138 Lazaro should be closer to the top
Taijeron just lost to Elan Tubbs from Ponderosa
At 145 Hustrulid just beat Alva
At 152 has De La Riva and Claiborne and Koshiyama are at 145
Adam velasquez with a h2h over carlos Alvarez at doc b @113
Ray Lomas – Central Catholic has drop down to the 160 weight class
hopefully the new ones are up soon! Skyler Gonzalez Rocklin has beat Kainrath twice now at 170
Gonzalez is campaigning at 182.
Watching Kainrath and Sumner at 170 is fun.
When does the rankings get updated?
I would guess that they will come out next week after the Doc Buchanan Invitational.
Thank you for the time and help
Sean Tow and James Warden arn’t wrestling and Colin Hustrulid is at Ponderosa
