Top 10 Uncommitted California High School Wrestlers from 2023
Last season the class of 2023 produced one state champion in Nicco Ruiz from St. John Bosco. Ruiz had an amazing year winning every tournament he entered. As one of the top recruits in the entire nation, Ruiz gave it verbal commitment to wrestle at Arizona State. Tye Monteiro from Bakersfield, placed 2nd behind state champion, Joseph Martin, at 182 lbs. last season. Monteiro is now a 2X state placer and will be looking for his third medal next year. Monteiro has given his commitment to wrestle at Stanford. Beau Mantanona from Palm Desert gave his verbal commitment in February to the University of Michigan. Many people were shocked that he didn’t follow his brother’s footsteps in signing with Oklahoma but should be a great fit for him.
Our number one uncommitted recruit is Maxx Martinez who had to skip last season due to injury. Look for him to have an amazing season should he be able to come back strong and healthy.
Here are the wrestlers from the class of 2023 that have already committed (also see below). click here to view

I was surprised not to see Ethan Ward at least in the HM. He had an outstanding summer. Doing well at Junior Duals and placing at Fargo. He also had a good season last year. He is ranked 8th for preseason at 113. Congratulations to all 2023!! Excited for this season.
I nominate Achilles Clarke (Pitman HS (SJ)) to be one of the most saught after Top10 Wrestlers of the class of 2023.
Achilles Clarke is a dedicated wrestling athlete as well most likely to succeed in his college career academically as well as in his Wrestling Performance.
Congratulations Wrestling Class of 2023! You are Awesome!
