There is no doubt that Isaiah Martinez is the top wrestler in California for the upcoming season. One of his main goals for this year will be to capture his third consecutive state championship. Martinez, after his high school, will be competing in the Big 10 and wrestling for the Fighting Illini in college. Adrian Salas, Coleman Hammond, Jonas Gaytan, Shayne Tucker, Keaton Subjeck, Micah Perez, Arnulfo Olea and Victor Lopez will all be looking to be three-time state placers in March.

I don’t understand why Pope would be ahead of Barber when Barber recently beat him 4-2 at Temecula. Also, it seems that Sohrab Movahedi should be on this list. He beat Pope 12-7 at Doc B and has not lost to any other CA wrester this year (although he is yet face either Salas or Barber).
Shayne Tucker will also be going for his 3rd state placing, he has placed 4th & 2nd.
