Daniel Cormier Announced as New Coach at Gilroy

Daniel Cormier has been named the new Gilroy High School head wrestling coach, the school announced Tuesday. In addition to his new head coach job, Cormier will continue serving as the head coach of the Daniel Cormier-AKA Youth Wresting club. He also has programs in place at two local San Jose gyms, LUTE! Training Academy and Knoxx Gym.

“This opportunity is huge for me,” Cormier told MMAFighting.com. “Wrestling has been the foundation for everything I’ve done. I’m excited to coach a great team in Gilroy and excited to give back to the town that has accepted me and my family so openly.”

Cormier has elected to take no pay but refer his payment to his two assistant coaches.
