Coaches, we had to change it up since the previous years. The Tokay lady tigers wrestling invitational has been rebranded as the “Goddess of War” JV/ Varsity Girls tournament. Over the past few years, we feel there is a big need to host tournaments that provide mat time for beginner girls and still have quality matches for those with experience. We also feel that girls deserve to be made a priority and have their own tournaments. Most importantly we feel that JV tournaments would benefit our new wrestlers the most towards the beginning of the season, providing confidence, opportunities and experience. Therefore, we the Tokay girls wrestling team, would like to invite you and your girls teams to the very 1st annual, “Goddess of War” JV and Varsity girls wrestling tournament. Our anticipation is to provide our girls with an ample amount of mat time and offer a higher-level of competition for the experienced girls. Space will be limited, so please message me if you’re interested, and please contact me to hold your spot ASAP.

Weigh-Ins: 7:00-8:00 am Wrestling begins: 9:00 am in 2 GYMs on 7/8 mats

Eligibility: Any female wrestler in good standing with her high school in accordance with CIF rules

Varsity Weight Classes: 101, 106, 111, 116, 121, 126, 131, 137, 143, 150, 160, 170, 189, 235

Varsity: 16-man bracket (Double Elimination) Medals awarded to Top 4, placers.

JV: Pulled weight (Round Robin) Medal Top 3, placers.

Style: Folk-style

Trainer: Available at the tournament

Registration: Entry Fee is $35 per wrestler, $400 per team (12-20 wrestlers) and $20 for each additional wrestler. Register your team by Monday 11/21/22 by 8 pm. Email me ASAP to reserve your team’s spot, limited room is available. Team registration info will be emailed out to the confirmed team prior to the tournament. We will be running the Varsity tournament on TRACKWRESTLING, JV will be ran by hand. You can send check or pay at the door.

Newark Memorial High School is proud to host, with the assistance of WrestlingMart and the Newark Rotary Club, the 33rd Annual Rich Swift Memorial Ironman Wrestling Duals on Saturday, December 11, 2021, in Newark, California, which is located 15 miles north of San Jose and 20 miles south of Oakland.

Rich Swift, a member of the California Wrestling Hall of Fame, was an outstanding  teacher, coach, athletic director, and wrestling tournament director in Newark for 30+ years who passed away in 2013.

The tournament promises to be an outstanding day of competition.  Each team will be guaranteed 5 dual matches. Ten teams will be divided into two groups of five; BLUE and GOLD. Each team will then square off for four duals in a round robin format against each team in their group. For the final round, the best of the BLUE division will go against the best of the GOLD division.  The remaining matches will pit the BLUE runner-ups against their respective GOLD Division counterparts.

Read the details below and respond as quickly as possible.  The first 10 schools to respond and submit payment will be guaranteed spots.  Each year several Ironman participants place in their Section Championships and qualify for and place at the CA State tournament.

The NM Event Center is a GREAT venue for wrestling.  The competition will be solid and we will make it an outstanding experience for you, your fans and your team.
