The hire of David Taylor at Oklahoma State is already paying off as they landed a top recruit in Ronnie Ramirez last week. The two-time California state champ from Walnut High School is currently ranked as the #28 wrestler in the class of 2025. He announced his decision on Instagram last week stating he’s excited to be a Cowboy and that he’s been dreaming of this since he was a kid.

In addition to his two California state titles, Ramirez also won Doc B and Reno this season and finished 3rd at Super 32. He was 5-2 at the U20 US Open with a victory over PIAA and National Prep champ Nate Desmond who beat him in the Super 32 quarterfinals this fall.

Ramirez is currently ranked #5 at 120 lbs. and will compete at 125 lbs. for Oklahoma State in the Fall of 2025.

Class of 2025 stud wrestlers, The Cortez brothers, won California state titles at 120 lbs and 126 lbs. a year ago for Gilroy HS. Isaiah and Elijah Cortez are ranked #16 and #38 in their weight classes by FloWrestling. Both are coached by Daniel Cormier.
