CBU Head Coach Lenny Zalesky on his team’s performance: “We have a young team but they fought hard, battled to the end, I was happy with that we battled a couple of their ranked guys at 157 and 165 pounds and are outstanding.” “There were 3 or 4 point matches that were close as in our 149 pounder in AJ Rava came back injured and didn’t open up, he is a tough person, has hung in well but once when the season opens up he will start to improve, at 157 Zack Rowe got thrown in there as he was defeated by a 2 time Oklahoma State Champion (Scott Skidgel from Navy).

Garrett Strang from Chapparel has been tough for us when he transferred from Western State of Colorado he has wrestled competitively ever since he has been on the mat, last year he defeated the Pac 12 champion in a dual which was a huge win for us he has given us a good performance here at CBU.” said Coach Zalesky

Zach Schrader from Army Navy Academy is a very heavy and sly wrestler has won the National Collegiate Open along with defeating some tough athletes, he doesn’t look at physical sometimes but moves well.” said Coach Zalesky.

“We are currently redshirting 4 or 5 wrestlers until they feel that they are ready for next season and will do well.” said Coach Zalesky.
